Services & Techniques

At Back to Health Physical Medicine, we take great pride in providing the finest physical medicine and wellness care to our patients. Below is a sampling of the different services we offer in our Dallas office.

Medical Weight Loss

Through our Lifestyle Packages, patients lose an average of 2-3 pounds per week following a low glycemic food plan. We don’t have the philosophy of a one-size-fits-all package for patients; we customize our medical weight loss packages for every individual. Our packages help patients not only lose the weight, but learn how to maintain a healthy weight for life. If patients have 10 pounds or over 100 pounds to lose, there is a custom package to help each patient.

Amniotic Allografts

Regenerative medicine is an emerging branch of medicine with the goal of restoring organ and/or tissue function for patients with serious injuries or chronic disease in which the body’s own responses are not sufficient enough to restore functional tissue. A growing crisis in chronic pain in our active and aging population has driven a search for new and alternative therapies beyond pain killers and steroids. Something that can actually "fix" the problem once and for all, not just cover it up.

New and current regenerative medicines can use amniotic allografts to create living and functional tissues to regenerate and repair tissue and parts of the body that are damaged due to age or disease. Areas like arthritic knees, hips, shoulders, or damaged spinal discs that are resistant to other treatments benefit from amniotic allografts. Amniotic allografts have the power to go to these damaged areas and regenerate new cells and tissues by performing a repair and a renewal process, and restoring functionality. Regenerative medicine has the potential to provide a cure to problems that before required invasive surgeries or worse chronic pain medication.  Amniotic allografts can also be used to avoid future problems by repairing damaged tissue before the damage becomes so excessive that more invasive and risky treatments are needed.

The Flow allografts can be administered to the injured or scarred area in the physician’s office. The membrane allografts are used to augment surgical procedures and improve outcomes by providing a structural matrix, preventing adhesion and scar formation, and also bringing bioactive factors to the area that is being repaired surgically, promoting tissue regeneration. Amnion allografts have been successfully used since the early 1900s. Since then, they have been used in a wide variety of surgical specialties: orthopedics, podiatry, urology, gynecology, general surgery and neurosurgery. These are just a few of the specialties that utilize this type of graft, with highly successful patient outcomes.

Chiropractic Care

We provide advanced spinal correction utilizing "state of the art" chiropractic techniques. Specific spinal adjustments are the hallmark of chiropractic care. An adjustment is a gentle force introduced into the spine intended to restore normal motion to spinal joints. Restoring normal motion to spinal joints help to decrease the joint pain many people are currently experiencing.  Adjustments are helpful in the treatment of many conditions from back and neck pain to migraine headaches. They have also been proven to help with shoulder problems, knee pains, and carpal tunnel in adults; as well as the correction of scoliosis and structural problems in children. As a Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Farrell has years of training and experience in spinal adjusting.

In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.  We develop specific exercise programs to meet each patient's functional needs.

Lifestyle Advice

We often find it helpful to "coach" our patients on certain activities they should avoid or do differently to avoid aggravating their particular health challenge. Our goal is to help every patient achieve a fulfilling and happy lifestyle full of the activities they enjoy most. We recognize that each our patient is a whole person, and help them reach true health and wellness is a collaborate effort between our professionals and our patients.

Massage Therapy

Medical massage therapy offers a natural conservative treatment approach that relieves musculoskeletal pain for many patients. Our office provides specific massage and muscular therapy that is tailored to meet the patient's condition and injury. The benefits of massage therapy may include increasing blood circulation, reducing swelling, relaxing muscles, relieving muscle pain and spasms, and aid in recovery and range of motion.
